Scope & Content:

Small pocket diaries kept by Alec Guinness between 1960-2000. There are short prose autograph entries for every day of the year. Each entry begins with Guinness's geographical location.

They often contain comments on weather, activities of the day (commonly eg visits to mass) and evening, comments on sleep. They always includes Guinness's address and telephone number. Often contains names, addresses and telephone numbers in the back or front pages, along with accounting notes such as cash account notes, bank account details and other financial information noted. Sometimes there are quotes transcibed on non-dated pages, often the same quotes copied out over and over again. Birthdays listed in birthday's or special dates page.
