Papers collated by Paul Thompson (pre-formation of the Society). Includes:
- Correspondence relating to (and between) various members of the advisory oral history committee/panel which was formed from the attendees of the conference/meeting at BIRS on 13 Dec 1969. These attendees included Paul Thompson, George Ewart Evans, Stewart Sanderson, and Theo Barker.
- Correspondence providing information about various oral history projects, including details about recordings/methods/storage; biographical excerpts; and an example interview schedule (Thompson reported on current British oral history work in the News Sheet which later became the OHS journal).
The file contents are mostly chronological, with some correspondents' mail grouped together.
