Receipt concerning a Debt (SB XX 15018, TM 38531)
Scope & Content:
Ioannes acknowldeges to have received from five village headmen (protokometai) of the village of Aphrodito a document concerning a sum of money, which he will return once the outstanding sum will be paid to him. With subscription of the notary Pilatus, son of Apollos, who is the witness.

Papyrus sheet, lacking part of its left-hand half and damaged on the right too; written on one side across the fibres, the back being blank. There are 13 lines, some of which are mutilated. Upper and lower margins survive to c.10 mm. Left and right margins are damaged. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Papyrus slip, dark-brown, complete but damaged by holes and abrasion, and somewhat torn at the top; written on one side across the fibres, the back being blank. There are 4 lines and traces of another line at the bottom. The left margin measures 15-25 mm; no margin was left to the right. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

The fragment preserves the beginnings of 12 lines written along the fibres, the back being blank. Mounted on cardboard and housed in a glass case.

Recto: Portions of two columns, written along the lines; of column 1 only few line-ends survive; column 2 is better preserved; with right margin (50 mm) and intercolumn (c. 15 mm).
