Portions of papyrus roll, housed in three glass frames named Papyrus 1178(1), Papyrus 1178(2), and Papyrus 1178(3); damaged by holes throughout and written on one side, the back being blank. Papyrus 1178(2) and Papyrus 1178(3) are mounted on cardboard; Papyrus 1178(1) preserves three seals on the back. Writing runs along the height of the roll.
Papyrus 1178(1): Sheet glued at the beginning of the roll; 7 lines written along the fibres, abraded in places; blank space between lines 1 and 2; margins are extant. On the back at the bottom there are three seals. Sheet-joins running along the width are visible.
Papyrus 1178(2): Light-coloured by patches, with minor abrasion and holes especially in the left half; 42 lines written across the fibres, few of which lack the beginnings. A strip of horizontal fibres was glued onto the surface in the upper half. Three stains are visible at the top.
Papyrus 1172(3): With darker patches; mutilated in the left-hand side and at the bottom, with detached scrap; with surface damage in places. 50 lines written across the fibres, some of which lack the beginnings.
